On June 28th, Swissmoto took a bold step forward in promoting women’s motocross by hosting its first-ever Trial Dayexclusively for female riders. Held at a dedicated training facility in Switzerland, the event brought together aspiring and experienced motocross athletes for a full day of riding, learning, and empowerment — all under the guidance of multi-time Swiss champion Sandra Keller.
The initiative, organised by Swissmoto with strong backing from Yamaha Switzerland, aimed to provide a safe, inspiring space for women to explore or improve their motocross skills. From cornering techniques to physical and mental preparation, the participants received top-tier coaching and personal feedback throughout the day.
With a mix of beginners, hobby riders and young competitive talents, the event showcased the growing interest and potential of women in the Swiss MX scene. Yamaha’s involvement included the supply of demo bikes, gear support and on-site mechanical assistance — ensuring every rider had the chance to ride confidently and safely.
The success of this first Trial Day paves the way for more initiatives to come. Swissmoto hinted that further sessions may be added to the calendar later this year.
As motocross continues to grow in Switzerland, one thing is clear: the future includes more women on the track — and events like this are the first step in making that future a reality.
