Let’s dive in and get to know the rider behind the #1 plate.
MXM - How has this season been for you so far?
RL - Perfect, I was able to take a lot of wins. I would say it is one of the best seasons since I started racing.
MXM - What has surprised you the most in this year’s championship compared to last season?
RL - That much more can be possible with good physical fitness.
MXM - Do you think the number of races and the overall schedule are well-balanced, or would you like to see any changes?
RL - On the whole, I'm satisfied. We have enough races, of course there are good and less good tracks. I think it would be interesting to have 2 official Swiss Championships together with the FMS.
MXM - The competition seems stronger this year, but you are in another level… Is there any rider in particular who’s been pushing you the most?
RL - Unfortunately, Marcelo Cruz is not racing this season, so I only have one real competitor, Joao Ferraz. I'm glad he's racing, otherwise it would be too easy this season.
MXM - How do you handle the pressure of being the reigning champion and now also leading the championship?
RL - I'm taking it easy, we're already a little over halfway through the season and I have already managed to pull a few points clear of P2, which takes the pressure off me.
MXM - You're racing with a new Moto4 this season. What differences have you noticed compared to your previous bike?
RL - Sadly I wasn't able to start with the new quad at the beginning of the season. I also rode almost all the races with the "old" machine. I will probably contest the last few races with the new quad, it as a bit more power and is very quiet overall.
MXM - Is there anything you’ve specifically adjusted to feel more competitive?
RL - Only little things (like a new clutch from SUTER), the rest works perfectly.
MXM - What role has your family and friends played in your season so far?
RL - They play a major role. Without their support, none of this would be possible. I'm very grateful.
MXM - Have you felt more support or more responsibility this year?
RL - No, because they have also given me their full support in recent years.
MXM - How did you prepare during the pre-season for this year’s championship?
RL - I tried to improve my physical fitness and went running a lot. From February forwards, I tried to do as much training as possible on the quad in Italy.
MXM - Can you tell us a bit about your weekly training routine?
RL - I do endurace training 2-3 times a week and I try to ride on the track once a week.

MXM - Is there anything different you’ve done this year to improve?
RL - Yes, the improved physical fitness has helped me a lot.
MXM - With several races still to come, what are your goals for the rest of the season?
RL - I will try to win every heats and try to get some better starts.
MXM - Are you already thinking about 2026? Any plans to move to a new category or team?
RL - The focus will be on the Swiss Championship, but I will be competing in various races in Germany.
MXM - What advice would you give to young riders who dream of reaching your level?
RL - Stay focused, have goals in front of you and learn from the better riders.
MXM - Is there anything you’d like to say to your supporters or to those following your journey?
RL - Thank you for believing in me and giving me the best support.
